This is a great opportunity to join the committed facilities team at London Borough of Merton.
About Our Ideal Candidate
- The post holder will join a small team of facilities officers who are working to ensure the council's corporate operational building portfolio is safe and well maintained.
- We are looking for a candidate who understands building contract and maintenance processes and procedures as well as a desire to see the borough meet its climate emergency goals. You will need experience in construction project management and contract administration. The role requires the project management of a diverse range of schemes including managing contractors and consultants. Ideally you will need educated to degree level with a recognised professional qualification in a construction related field or in project management.
- You will also need to be a team player, working with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects and working closely with the other members of the facilities teams as well as officers within other teams dealing with building property issues.
What We Offer
The role benefits from hybrid working with at least 4 days a week at the Civic Centre in Morden, and the other day available for working from home or other council buildings.

The Civic Centre is very close to Morden Underground Station which is on the Northern Line. We are also a 10-minute walk from Morden Road Tram Stop and both Morden South and South Merton Railway Stations.
