We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to effectively and professionally lead day to day design, planning and construction management of significant elements on a large scale building project. The role is part of our Building Operating Unit and is based on a major commercial project in Cambridge

What you'll do:

  • Familiarise and understand the contract programme and target programme and understand the mode and method strategy
  • Represent the company at meetings, promote the correct company image and ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area
  • Participate and ensure that the management of design consultants is in place and ensure information is provided to suit the procurement strategy, manage the production of working drawings by trade contractors within the given timeframes.
  • Ensure that all work methods are sufficient to meet the projects needs
  • Oversee all works of the trade contractors, contributing to the selection of key specialists, suppliers, productions including the production of working drawings, procurement and prefabrication and performance on site.
  • Develop clear, detailed and practical measures of performance to meet project objectives. Regularly inspect works for compliance with design and report on progress, ensuring remedial action is taken within agreed timelines

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Experience of the successful tendering and delivery of Defence related construction projects.
  • Demonstrable building sector experience as a Senior/Project Manager.
  • Demonstrable experience leading in bids and tenders.
  • Key understanding of programme and the importance of sequence within construction projects.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and leading a team at delivery phase.
  • Educated to HNC level of equivalent essential
