About the Role
A member of the Assurance team responsible for managing the internal audit team. This includes delivery of an audit calendar supporting NPL’s certifications and accreditations and other obligations. A source of expertise providing leadership on how audit activities can best meet requirements and the needs of NPL and its stakeholders.
You will be part of the Quality Lead team and provide input to drive continuous improvement in the Quality owned processes and support making it easy to do the right thing across NPL by engaging with stakeholders.
About You
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Internal Auditors, ensuring a motivated competent and engaged team where tasks and plans are achieved and delivered on time within budget.
- A subject matter expert for Quality Auditing techniques and at least one of NPL’s external approvals, ensuring quality audits fully comply with standards set out in quality documentation and external certifications and accreditations.
- Lead the Quality Assurance team Internal Audit Programme, managing any implementation activities and performing gap analysis and risk identification.
- Ensure internal audit findings are issued, processed and supported by NPL auditors in a timely and pragmatic way and that up-to-date status is reported for them.
- Ensure that where appropriate audits result in suggestions and dialogue with Process Owners to progress improvements to NPL documents and systems.
- Ensure audits address appropriate activities and areas in NPL using suitable techniques, that appropriate root cause corrective action is being taken and, as appropriate that serious issues are escalated, and Senior Management are engaged.
- Own the quality audit procedures and associated documentation, as approved by the Quality Assurance Leader.
- Undertake own internal quality audits to an exemplary standard ensuring full compliance with standards set out in quality documentation external requirements and opportunities for improvement aligned with Business needs.
- Develop knowledge, skills and experience associated with the area of specialism and stay up to date with developments and legislation.
- Responsible for taking reasonable duty of care for Health & Safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and always follow direct instructions given with regards to Health & Safety.
- Require financial accounting or financial auditing background and ideally Internal Auditor Qualified
- Commercial and business experience desirable including supplier or other 2nd or 3rd party auditing.
