Role Profile
- In this role, you'll be joining our Data Intelligence Team within Data Ingestion, Platform and Solution Squad as a Senior Quality Engineering Manager, responsible for E2E project coordination, E2E test Strategy and planning, test status tracking, and tracking test execution activities including Functional, System Integration and Facilitating to support Product owners/Data owners and content operations in E2E Testing and extended to support Performance testing.
- The software products include (a) Building a Data lakes on the company platform using the platform building blocks DaaS and MDS on Azure cloud Fabric to extract data from vendor distribution channels and transform them to standard LSEG data models, more like an ETL to apply transformation rules and mappings and persist the same to the platform product data lake. (b) The data specialist teams to configure metadata and business rules, data corrections, data dictionary, field dictionary and generate reports. (c) Building UI/UX for customer to consume the data products based on the data catalogue and business glossary, with product segmentation with rights management. (d) A platform that can on-board multiple data products who have unique requirements and dedicated data sources. The platform capabilities like scheduling, triggering, delivery, interactive data products and contents, and management. The internal team within LSEG who builds software products and solutions for different business units within the organisation.
Tech Profile/Essential Skills
- 15+ years as Test Manager / Data Quality engineer working on one or more software products.
- Microsoft Fabric (SaaS Product – Software as a Service) Define E2E Test Strategy for SaaS Product and define Quality Gate’s to support SaaS Product without compromising on LSEG Testing Standards and Quality Gate Framework
- Defining and implementing E2E Test strategy with clear Entry and Exit criteria for each test programmes that aligns with our Agile principles and processes.
- Expert in E2E Test Management, Defect Management and QA Triage
- Expert in defining Test strategy and plans for large platform migration i.e. Cloud infrastructure
- Exposure to SIT, UAT and Perf Engineering and coordinate with multiple teams across the Business, Operations and Technology teams
- Excellent communication skills – Verbal and Written – articulate clear Weekly and E2E Test Reports to wider audience (ability to walk-through at C’level executives)
- Gain customer confidence and walk-through Test strategy and approach for C – Level and Business sponsors
- Conduct workshops with various stakeholders and understand each business requirements and define test scopE2E test scope for all squads
- Co-ordinating with all SCRUM Development teams and ensure meet exit criteria before promoting code into staging environments.
- Experience in defining test strategies in Data validation, Data completeness, Data Lineage, Meta Data, Data Quality, cloud native services, Test Data generation, Automated Data flows and Regression test pipelines/framework
- Leading and managing QA teams working on Azure cloud solutions, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained in an Agile environment.
- Manage relationship with Product Development, Business and Product owners, define SLAs and KPIs for each delivery phases and ability to drive the quality outcomes through all stakeholders.
- Planning, organizing, and managing all phases of the software testing lifecycle.
- Managing defects, including monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Reporting on key QA metrics and using these insights to drive quality improvements.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Managing and improving the QA process, tools, and frameworks used by the team.
- Creation of Test completion reports and seeking appropriate signoff process in each Quality Gate’s exit.
- Manage and monitor Test process, Test Governance, Defect management and provide pragmatic solutions for any critical issues in E2E Testing
- Work with the local management team to drive a ‘quality first’ environment, not limited to Quality Engineering practitioners.
- Demonstrate Iterative improvement in the quality of our software and be accountable for the overall quality of releases.
- Co-ordinating with SCRUM Squad Development teams LSEG and Microsoft and ensure meet exit criteria before promoting code into staging environments.
- Strong Azure DevOps CI/CD build and automation pipeline knowledge and Experience with containerization and related technologies.
- Experience in Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks/Synapse – Spark Pool, SpySpark, Purview
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools for managing agile development.
- Strong understanding of cloud concepts, Azure services, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Postman or other similar API test tools.
- Experience in Performance testing, and familiar with related test tools e.g. JMeter.
- Good understanding of software engineering principles and familiar with Agile development process and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc.)
- Strong sense of core system support and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Financial Markets domain knowledge.
- Financial Market Industry product development.
- Ability to support the Production Support team for escalation of critical issues.
- Domain knowledge and understanding of data products and data lakes is nice to have.
- Experience in Functional Automation testing in ETL Development environment.
Education and Professional Skills
- A good relevant degree is desirable, but experience and the right approach to work are just as important.
- ISEB/ISTQB Certified - Advanced or Expert Level in Test Management.
- Scrum/Agile.
- Solid English reading/writing capability required.
- Strong communication & articulation skills.
- Curious about new technologies and tools, creative thinking and initiative taking.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of technologies within LSEG and how they relate to various parts of the business.
- Work on any number of projects that may include: creating new automated ETL data feeds, working with data analysts to enhance the existing web tools, refactoring data flow processes, performing support of existing system, performing bug fixes, and prototyping new systems on new hardware.
