Job Purpose

To support the Strategy, Policy and Regulation Team primarily in the annual charges setting and publication process.

Ensuring that responses to queries accurately reflect charging policy is applied appropriately and that complex customer issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively.

Responsible for the accurate interrogation and interpretation of data and presentation of it within regulatory documents for submission to stakeholders including Ofwat and provide project management support for projects as required.

Production and analysis of data to assist/enable key business or policy decisions to be made by senior management.

Provide recommendations relating to complex internal requests.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Ownership of the process to co-ordinate the annual review of non-primary charges, including arranging and attendance at meetings, appropriate escalation, research and challenge where necessary.
• Respond to complex complaints and queries in relation to UUW charging policy and the application of the policy to both internal and external sources, including Ofwat, CCW or VIPs, facilitating resolution of escalated issues that have already been through senior managers within the business.
• Own the process to update and develop the workbook (guidance documents for the relevant departments), by monitoring the areas of charging policy which are generating queries, educate and improve understanding within the business. Liaising with the relevant areas to ensure requirements are met.
• Provide analytical and investigatory support for ad hoc interactions with stakeholders including Ofwat.
• Ensuring accuracy and comprehension of APR documents including proof reading and providing feedback to the Regulatory Reporting Manager as necessary.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Excellent understanding of charges and tariffs policies, including an understanding of the billing process and systems.
• Knowledge of the Business Retail market, Household market and Developer Services with an overall knowledge of the water industry.
• Excellent skills in analysis and presentation of data
• Understanding of UUW business drivers and regulatory regimes.
• Knowledge of the regulatory framework and the Price Review.
