  • This role is open to accepting applications nationally where we have AG office presence, including Scotland, Manchester, Leeds or London. This will be a hybrid working position aligned with the firm's policy of three days per week in the office. We are also open to considering individuals seeking part-time (4 days per week).
  • As well as our own trained lawyers, we have colleagues who have previously been in international, Magic Circle, US, City, national and boutique law firms as well as in-house at leading corporates, all of whom enjoy working with us.

THE TEAM

Our Environment & Sustainability team delivers comprehensive advice on the entire spectrum of environmental risk and liability concerns often high-profile, catering to a diverse client base across multiple sectors. There will be collaborative working with our colleagues across real estate, corporate, projects, banking and business restructuring teams to ensure that environmental risk is properly identified and managed in transactions.

We assist clients in navigating the complex landscape of both UK and EU environmental regulations that affect their operations. Our guidance encompasses a the full range of regulatory regimes, including environmental permitting, water resources, pollution and contamination, natural capital, waste management, climate change and energy performance, asbestos management, and issues of waste and producer responsibility, such as packaging waste, classification, labelling, packaging, and the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

We represent clients in formal investigations and prosecutions conducted by environmental regulators, understanding the unpredictable and singular nature of these events and the need for rapid response. We support clients in developing effective strategies for managing these investigations and advise on voluntary disclosures of non-compliance to regulatory authorities, including the drafting of enforcement undertaking offers and subsequent steps.
