This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.


Role Purpose:

The role of the Structured Finance Relationship Manager is primarily to complete the loans that are introduced by the Head of Department and the Sales Managers within the Bank. There will also be instances where the Structured Finance Relationship Manager has joint ownership of existing accounts and will source new facilities directly. The Structured Finance Relationship Manager reports directly to the Head of Relationship Management and will assist them in their duties as and when required.


Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

  • Responsibility for on-going relationship and risk management within the portfolio, including management of any extensions/renewals/restructures
  • Liaison with Executive Directors, Chief Credit Officer, Head of Operations & Servicing and/or Credit Committee, as appropriate
  • Identification of risk situations and control of overdue loans ensuring portfolio is adequately monitored
  • Monitoring of CRRs / LTV’s/ Loan Conditions and report to the Operations Manager who will present/discuss to credit in the monthly book review
  • Site visits and client meetings as required
  • Assist with the management of the recovery of any impaired assets
  • Evaluate Asset Manager / QS reports and provide recommendations to Credit and the Operations Manager to authorise/approve stage drawdowns if applicable
  • Ensuring the timely reporting of elevated risk situations and conduct of loan reviews
  • Negotiate and communicate with valuers, Solicitors and other professional advisers, from obtaining fee quotes for initial enquires until repayment of facilities
  • Monitoring adherence to loan offer terms
  • Ensuring that security valuations and reports on title comply with the bank’s procedures and following up promptly any matters which do not meet the required standards
  • General liaison with customers to resolve any issues outstanding and requiring attention
  • Ensure Portfolio Management adheres to the Bank’s Internal Processes and External Regulatory Framework


New Business:

  • Liaising with Head of Department, the Sales Managers within the Bank and Introducers to generate new business opportunities
  • Maintain contact through regular meetings, telephone calls, internal and external events and other communication means to encourage new business introductions
  • Evaluate new business opportunities undertaking research, cash flow analysis, input into Aurius design and draft Sighting Paper, Credit Proposals, Memos, Reports, File Notes and any other paperwork as required
  • Progress sanctioned proposals to drawdown and successful repayment
  • Provide feedback as and when required to introducers or sales managers
  • Encourage flow of repeat business where appropriate
  • Maintain efficient and professional service, and good customer/banker relationship
  • Share good practice and provide team internal training/ mentoring within the team

General Matters:

  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to each team member you are working with to assist their own understanding and to deliver a good quality service to your customers
  • Assist the Head of Department as and when required;
  • Provide support and assist the Operations Manager and Team as and when required
  • Manage efficient and accurate file maintenance and account processing (Aurius and Virtual Cabinet)
  • Production of management information for Senior Management as required
  • Undertake Specific Projects as and when required by the Team or the wider Bank
  • Any other matters required to be done to assist in the achievement of the Bank’s budget and business development plans, including any personally allocated performance objectives


Skills and Experience sought:

  • Knowledge of/ interest in the property market
  • Experience with HNW clients
  • Office IT systems (word, excel, etc.)
  • Legal aspects of the property market, specifically taking property as security
  • Familiarisation with bridging, development, commercial and short term lending
  • Good written/report writing skills
  • Ability to communicate accurately, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work to tight deadlines whilst paying attention to detail
  • Willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary to meet team objectives
  • Able to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to present to & entertain clients
