The role:

Landsec is evolving its retail leasing and partnerships team focused on driving growth across our Outlet portfolio and building strategic relationships with our customers. The scope of this role will be Retail and not Hospitality focused. The team will be assigned both asset specific and customer specific responsibilities.


The Senior Leasing Manager role sits within the Retail team, whose combined scope is to position Landsec as a market leading partner for our customers, across all asset classes. Alongside Leasing includes digital advertising, commercial partnerships, retail, office and residential functions. This individual will be responsible for the management of two Retail Leasing direct reports.

Location: The role is based in Victoria, with travel to Gunwharf, Clarks, and Braintree as needed. Flexible working is supported, with an expected pattern of 1–2 days in the office, a day at Gunwharf, and the remainder working from home, meeting brands, or visiting other outlets, depending on weekly schedules.


The Team:

We're a team of six seeking a seventh member to manage leasing across our assets, focusing on outlets. This role will oversee all three outlets, with a primary focus on leasing Gunwharf Quays, our flagship outlet.


What you will be responsible for:

Retail Outlet Leasing

  • Drive a portfolio approach to commercial transactions to leverage the scale of our 3 outlet assets and relationships
  • Providing detailed market expertise and insight to inform decisions
  • Negotiate compelling and creative commercial transactions
  • Take responsibility for the full transaction life cycle including negotiation, approval, due diligence, legals and ongoing engagement
  • Maximise opportunities within the Retail team to cross-sell across different geographies and sectors
  • Understand and interpret shifting customer and consumer behaviour to deliver results
  • Help position Landsec as a partner of choice
  • Influence the leasing models and commercial strategy
  • Challenge the status quo to drive innovation and creative solutions


Customer Relationship Management

  • Proactively lead the CRM for a designated group of key customers
  • Develop customer plans to manage and align Landsec with our customers
  • Identify opportunities and tactics to build strategic partnerships
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of the customer segment to improve engagement
  • Coordinate customer activity across the portfolio to maximise commercial outcomes
  • Collaborate across the business to deliver better experiences
  • Implement actions from customer feedback
  • Identify emerging brands and grow a pipeline of future customers
  • Identify underperforming customers and work alongside the wider Retail team to improve sales or elegantly exit the brand in favour of an incoming target brand


Your skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Experienced operator in the UK outlet retail market with an extensive network within the occupier and agency communities
  • In-depth understanding of retailer business models and structures i.e. P&L, NOI
  • Passion for retail and deep knowledge of the sector and current trends, particularly relating to Outlets
  • Track record in delivering stretching commercial outcomes
  • Highly commercial and strong business acumen
  • Analytical, diligent and articulate
