Senior RTR Accountant to work within the Murphy Finance Shared Service team
in
Stonecross - Wigan (WA3)
This is a 12 month fixed term role, we are seeking a fully qualified Senior RTR Accountant, with post qualification experience.
Operating in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and the USA, Murphy provides better engineered solutions to infrastructure sectors including transportation, water, power and natural resources. A day in the life of a Murphy, Senior RTR Accountant
- Conducting accounting activities relating to the maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger and management accounts
- Processing information within the RTR area in line with Group Timetable and SSC SLAs
- Delivering timely and accurate information to Group Finance, Head of Tax and Finance Business partners for external and internal reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Support teams/ people management
- All queries, including audit queries
- Performing other assigned General Ledger tasks of a routine nature under the direction of the RTR Manager
- This role will be responsible for all Business Units (which will contain Join Ventures) and Functional areas in the UK.

- Qualified accountant with a progressive record of success
- Possess strong analytical/planning skills, together with a strong accounting/ control background
- Demonstrable experience of working with a wide array of other functions at different levels – commercial, operations, marketing, IT etc
- Strong communication and influencing skills – able to network effectively with finance and operational management across the business in a variety of cultures
- Proven experience of producing high quality written communications and presentations for senior management
- Effective change agent with the ability to gain organisational buy-in and effectively accelerate and implement transformation plans
- Strong intellect as well as ability to communicate at all levels, drive change, implement systems and work cross functionally
