Job Description
Costain have won extensive work across the water sector this year to support the AMP 8 investment cycle. We have been appointed by United Utilities as one of 7 partners to the Enterprise, delivering £5.5bn of projects in the Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) between 2025 – 2030, and AMP 9 (2030 – 2035). Our scope is to provide project management, design, construction and commissioning services on design and build schemes throughout the North West and Cumbria region covered by United Utilities. Projects vary in value, covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets on water and wastewater sites with wider Enterprise partners
The Senior Site Agent will support the delivery of projects allocated to Costain and ranging in value from £12m - £150m in this first wave. You will work across the project lifecycle from concept, ECI, delivery and through handover and will be leading our design and delivery team in engagement with site operational teams and supply chain partners (on one or multiple sites). You will be developing our construction strategies and programmes and ensuring we are setting up and delivering safely, to quality, time and budget
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the wider team to develop robust plans and forecasts for delivery aligned to the requirements of the Costain Way and Enterprise processes
- Lead on the development of the delivery strategies and programme, budget development and delivery of work packages; ensuring robust scope challenge throughout whilst ensuring we meet the requirements
- Lead in the development of collaborative relationships with site operations teams, our supply chain and site delivery teams for effective delivery of your allocated site/s
- Create and lead a positive working culture to promote safe, efficient and high-quality delivery adapting plans to accommodate changes or improvements
- Support the drive to achieve zero LTI and RIDDOR incidents
- Ensure consistent and reliable reporting of project/services performance into the Framework
- Report key project and programme risks and work with the wider team to mitigate or manage effectively
Qualifications
- Package management experience for packages over £1m (preferably multiple packages concurrently or a single large value package)
- Experience of on site delivery, managing supply chain partners, your own team and collaborating with wider disciplines to support safe delivery
- Familiarity and experience of delivery to NEC contract forms
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant CSCS card
- Willingness to work across multiple sites throughout the North West
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- SMSTS qualification
