The City of London Corporation has adopted a radical Climate Action Strategy that sets out how the organisation will achieve net zero, build climate resilience, and champion sustainable growth over the next two decades.
By adopting this strategy, the City Corporation has committed to:
The role will support the delivery of the CAS goals: scope 1 and 2 emissions to be net zero by 2027 and scope 3 emissions to be net zero by 2040. They will drive the adoption, monitor and report on compliance with the City of London Corporation (COLC) Climate Action Strategy (CAS) Capital Projects – Design Standard (including Technology Guide).. This will require engagement with multiple internal stakeholders and relevant external stakeholders.
Collectively, the City Surveyors Department is responsible for managing the City of London's diverse portfolio of operational, community and tenanted properties including wholesale markets, offices, retail, libraries, open space, public schools, law courts, Barbican, Mansion House, Guildhall and the City of London Police estate. The role will involve implementing projects across the portfolio.
The post requires a Degree In a relevant discipline, e.g., architecture, low carbon building design or engineering. Applicants should have a proven track record of delivering on sustainability requirements in large construction projects across all the RIBA stages.
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of one of the most ambitious Net Zero plans in local government.
