Role: Senior Tax Accountant


Reports To: Head of Finance


Department: Finance


Base office: West London



Our client, a PE backed, rapidly growing financial services business seeks a Senior Tax Accountant to manage all the tax affairs and strategy for the business. As the most senior tax person, you will be responsible for managing the global tax operations. The role requires a deep understanding of international tax laws, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage complex tax issues across various entities and geographies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conducting a gap analysis, cleaning up and tax restructuring, ensuring proper tax strategy, handling tax compliance, and addressing transfer pricing issues
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns for all entities within the Group, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws
  • Manage the global tax reporting process, including quarterly and annual tax provisions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise the group’s tax position across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advise on the tax implications of business operations, restructurings, and new initiatives
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess the impact on the group’s operations and strategies
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of transfer pricing policies and documentation in compliance with OECD guidelines and local regulations
  • Manage transfer pricing audits and disputes, providing expert support and guidance
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks across the group, ensuring robust tax risk management processes are in place
  • Lead tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities in various jurisdictions
  • Provide tax advice and support to various business units and senior management on a wide range of projects and transactions
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business planning and decision-making processes
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Provide training and updates to finance and business teams on tax matter


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Financial Services/Gambling/Crypto industry background essential
  • Entrepreneurial mind set essential
  • Happy to work autonomously and part of a team
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent with extensive post-qualification experience in a senior tax role
  • Proven experience in managing tax affairs of a complex multinational organisation, within the financial services sector
  • Exceptional communication skills and extensive experience in stakeholder management
  • Must have gravitas and the ability to confidently navigate and influence meetings.
