Position Summary
Summary of the role, purpose and essential requirements
A strong predictor of success for a senior manager at LivaNova will be the ability to implement technical changes, understand accounting and tax rules, leverage technology, and coordinate activities of the tax department. The senior manager may have direct reports and will have responsibilities in areas of project management and executing strategic initiatives. In addition, the senior manager will be an important individual contributor to the success of the tax team, the global provision and compliance processes, and other tax department tasks.
General Responsibilities

- Primary contact and resource for local country business finance teams with respect to all matters of direct & indirect income taxation.
- Review tax return workpapers and tax returns (UK and nonUK), tax return-to-provision reconciliations, deferred prove-outs, and tax payable/receivable proofs.
- Review income tax journal entries and income tax account reconciliations.
- Prepare, lead, and support quarterly provision including changes in standards, international law (like Pillar 2, CbCR), metrics/analysis/communicate anticipated accounting results, leverage IT solutions, and own disclosures on quarterly SEC and IFRS filings.
- Be in house expert for ASC 740 and IFRS including discontinued operations, intercompany profit eliminations, valuation allowances, discrete/annualized effective tax rate analysis, topsides
- Lead US GAAP to local statutory tax accounting treatment and Pillar 2’s QDMTT, IIR
- Lead training on tax provision software; SOX workpapers, and tax accounting process
- Review indirect tax accounting implications
- Assist, review, or lead special projects/efficiencies, tax modelling, mergers and acquisitions, and tax research
Skills And Experience
- Significant tax experience in industry and/or similar positions
- Chartered Institute of Tax or equivalent qualification is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Excel including experience applying Excel formulas/data organization/referencing tools for high volume of data.
- Experience with Longview, OneSource, and/or SAP. More important is speed and proficiency in learning and applying technology.
- Mastering of US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting concepts.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail with analytical skills to notice inconsistencies.
- Need to be adept at working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and complex environment while leveraging technology.
- Team environment requiring communication skills to coordinate with team members who may be in other countries.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting/Tax.
- 10+ years’ experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting with focus on ASC 740.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required.
