Job Title: Senior Town and Country Planner
Hybrid working - Falmer office (2 days a week)/Site visits
Salary: up to £60,000 depending on experience
Job Summary
As part of our ongoing commitment to improve service delivery for our customers, we are excited to be recruiting for a new position within our Environmental Compliance team – a Senior Town & Country Planner! This role will play a pivotal part in supporting our Environmental Compliance Manager by ensuring that we continue to deliver best practice environmental compliance and ensure we meet all statutory obligations relating to water resource management and drought regulation.
Responsibilities
This role will work closely with internal teams such as Asset Strategy, Water Resources, Drought Management, Wastewater Treatment Works, Residuals and Land Quality, Groundwater, Regulatory Reporting and Operational Teams across the business to provide expert planning advice to help us achieve regulatory compliance. The role will also require you to engage directly with regulators such as the EA and DEFRA to ensure we have robust plans in place to maintain operational resilience during periods of drought or other challenges.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who has a background in town and country planning ideally gained within the water industry (or similar). You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have experience of managing projects through to completion. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the water industry, particularly in relation to water resources and drought, but this isn’t essential if you feel you can bring transferable skills to the role.

This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between home and office.
