About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Transaction Management, this position is instrumental in driving Believ's growth in the private sector. You will be responsible for managing and ensuring completion of EV charging transactions to secure prime, leasehold sites for EV charging across the UK. It requires a strategic, proactive approach that ensures transactions are taken from Heads of Terms to completed leases / purchase agreements, thereby delivering a high-quality EV site pipeline.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of property law, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
The private sector includes, but it not limited to – land, multi-tenant retail (shopping centres and retail parks), hotels, leisure and sports facilities, food & beverage, drive thru operators, education/religious institutions, fuel forecourt operators, hospitals and healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Lease Negotiations: Lead negotiations from heads of terms to completed leases, ensuring favourable terms for the company.
- On-going site feasibility: Assess the on-going feasibility of proposed schemes and have regard for matters such as tenure, boundary issues, existing tenancies and restrictions/covenants. Support in the due diligence process for potential sites, including title searches, surveys, environmental assessments, and other necessary investigations
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and efficient site development.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and other relevant legislation where relevant.
- Technical: Work with the Design & Engineering team to help evaluate suitable land parcel opportunities and create initial layout designs ahead of landlord and developer consultation. Awareness of where/when wayleaves/easements are required and the negotiation thereof
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and other external stakeholders.
- Internal relationship management: Internal and external stakeholder management - working in conjunction with the wider internal team as well as the project management team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for optimising internal processes and maximise efficiency
- Documentation: Oversee the preparation and review of all legal documents related to site acquisition and leasing. Ensure the TM team maintains accurate and up-to-date transaction records and documentation
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with property transactions.
- Process improvements: Proactively refine and adapt the processes in place to ensure an efficient, speedy transaction process. Regularly test and update the TM process
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in the real estate sector, with a focus on lease negotiation and transaction management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline. A professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) is preferred.

- Proven track record in successful delivery of real estate transactions in the UK.
- In-depth knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Strong approach to problem solving and ability to bring and present new ideas and potential solutions to challenges – ability to unlock transactions that aren’t progressing.
- An interest and passion for the renewable energy sector.
- Understand UK landlord and tenant legislation.
- Experience working with solicitors and providing property expertise for contracts, leases, etc.
- Self-motivated and a willingness to learn.
- Enthusiastic and proactive
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally
- Team player who can also work independently
- High levels of numeracy and IT literacy
- Good analytical skills, with attention to detail

Location
