This is a high-profile leadership role with a company offering a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting commercial growth and scientific innovation.

The Role

As SVP, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer, you will lead all aspects of the finance and accounting operations within a dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven organisation. Reporting to the CFO, you will provide both operational leadership and strategic insight, ensuring robust financial reporting and compliance as the business scales internationally. The role is based in London with hybrid working on offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all core accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, tax, treasury, payroll, technical accounting, and SEC reporting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and SEC regulations.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial statements and disclosures for public company compliance.
  • Oversee audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Align accounting operations with strategic business objectives including commercialisation and infrastructure growth.
  • Implement a robust procurement function and associated strategy.
  • Support the adoption of digital tools to drive data-driven financial decision-making.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive team to shape long-term financial strategy, provide insights to the Audit Committee, and guide capital financing decisions.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), with 15+ years of finance leadership experience.
  • Bring significant experience from public companies, ideally within the biotech or life sciences sector.
  • Demonstrate a track record of driving financial and operational excellence in fast-growth, regulated environments.
  • Possess strong knowledge of SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and building best-in-class finance functions.
  • Be a strategic leader with strong communication skills and proven success in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Have experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-led business delivering life-changing treatments to patients globally. You will work alongside a world-class executive team and play a vital role in the company's continued evolution as it advances its commercial and R&D strategy.

If you are an experienced finance leader with a passion for operational excellence and a desire to make a real impact in a science-led, mission-driven business, we would love to hear from you.
