We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our Infrastructure team located in Newark. You will deliver the survey works required on the A46 Newark Project, and work with the team to prepare for the start of construction.

What you'll do:

  • Exciting opportunity to join our team delivering a complex infrastructure project
  • Work on a large variety of structures, roadworks, and environmental challenges
  • Working with the site agent and section engineer you will assist with the remaining investigation works and archaeology works. You will supervise the works of specialist subcontractors on site; preparing permits, delivering site briefings and ensuring that works are carried out safely.
  • You will work collaboratively with the Skanska team and with Subcontractors as you deliver the works. You will take responsibility for maintaining high Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards in your section. You will raise requisitions for plant and materials required and will keep a detailed site diary for all your works.
  • You will contribute to the planning and preparation of the investigation and archaeology works and will have the opportunity to be involved in the site setup as the start of the main project works approaches.
  • You will be required to work some night shifts, including some Saturday nights for railway works, and will be paid overtime for these works.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Working towards a professional qualification (IEng, CEng)
  • A desire to learn, to work collaboratively, and to uphold Skanska’s values.
  • Previous experience working in construction
  • A degree level qualification in Civil Engineering, or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
  • Relevant CSCS card
  • Formal training in Health, Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS or SSSTS)
  • HSG47 qualification
