The Vacancy
We are currently looking to recruit a Site Manager to join the our E&M division on a full time permanent basis. As a Site Manager, you will deliver all site-based construction elements associated with multi-discipline projects, on-time to fully satisfy customer requirements.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a full understanding of the construction of electrical, mechanical and process elements of a projects. From the planning stage, through construction and up to commissioning.
Main Duties - Health & Safety (H&S) Planning:
- Contribute to the development of Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans upon securing bids.
- Project Management & Coordination:
- Collaborate with Project Managers to oversee all Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (EICA) and Mechanical installations.
- Develop and manage construction programmes, risk assessments, method statements, and lifting plans.
- Client Engagement:
- Liaise with Client Operations Teams throughout the construction phase to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Construction Drawings & Compliance:
- Receive, manage, and issue construction drawings at the site level.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with design specifications.
- Site Delivery & Resource Utilisation:
- Work closely with Team Leaders to facilitate safe, efficient, and compliant site operations.
- Optimise resource utilisation to enhance project efficiency.
- Workforce & Subcontractor Management:
- Manage internal direct reports for all construction teams.
- Oversee subcontractor activities on-site to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Logistics & Resource Planning:
- Plan and provide all necessary documentation, resources, tools, materials, consumables, Health & Safety equipment, and transport to support safe and efficient construction activities.
- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT):
- Manage SAT processes, including pressure testing of pipework and civil construction.
- Ensure all required test equipment is available, with relevant certifications accessible for review.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Conduct site audits and inspections to uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance.
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar level role ideally within an engineering or civils environment and an excellent working knowledge of the water industry would be beneficial. Awareness of NEC3 Construction & Engineering Contracts as well as an electrical or mechanical bias are also essential for the role. SMSTS is essential for this role. Travel to various sites throughout the country is required so a valid UK driving licence is essential for the position. SSSTS or SMSTS is essential for this role.
