Murphy is recruiting for a Site Manager to work within our Specialist Business Unit on the One Murphy Hub, our new site building in Golborne on a 12 month contract. This role reports into the Project Manager.
This exciting role works with the PM who has overall management of the construction of 2 buildings. The first of which is a new build RC frame office block and secondly, a new build steel frame warehouse with internal offices.
The state of the art "Super Hub" includes an office building, workshops, yard and open storage as well as new vehicular accesses and car parking. As part of the plans, the existing buildings will be demolished and transformed into a 26-home development backing onto a new public greenspace. Dubbed the ‘ Super Hub’, it represents more than a £35m investment in Wigan and the local community.

A day in the life of a Murphy Site Manager
- You will have overall management of:
- Steel frame warehouses with composite floors
- Various external envelope cladding packages and interfaces
- External Glass curtain walling systems
- Glass reinforced Cladding (GRC)
- Composite cladded roof systems
- Hot Rolled Bitumen roofing systems
- Interior Fit out experience including:
- Laying grid ceilings, MF Ceilings, Feature acoustic raft ceilings with mood lighting
- Feature steel staircases
- Feature timber staircases
- High end interior decoration works, including feature wall papering
- Commercial mechanical and electrical building fitout works, including AV system.
- Plasterwork, Joinery, Internal Glazing fitout works
- Office furniture fit out, installation of soft floor finishes within an office building
- Workshop fitout works
- Management of Quality Assurance and record keeping
- Planning and programming of subcontractor works
- Keeping a daily diary and site records
- Managing H&S on site.
- Site Inductions
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor RAMs
- Weekly H&S inspections
- Planning and programming of subcontractor works
- Management, coordination and supervision of subcontractors, including management of sub-contract meetings
- Management of RC Frame buildings
