Description

We are looking for a Social Media Producer to join our Greatest Hits Radio team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a role within the social team at one of the biggest radio stations in the UK. We are a mature brand aimed at people who have core memories from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Understanding this is key and knowing what resonates with them is crucial.


As a social media producer, you will be responsible for providing social media support for our interviews, content creation and contributing to our digital output.


We are looking for a confident communicator, with strong project management and editorial skills. You will work closely with our presenters like Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo and with high-profile guests to visualise the radio on social. The ability to work with talent and give clear instructions is an important part of this role.


Reporting to the Social Media Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing interviews, generating social-first ideas, content creation and posting on our social platforms. You will also support on wider projects and content planning.


We have a culture of collaboration and you’ll work with the wider Greatest Hits Radio teams including marketing, programming, commercial and music. An eclectic music taste is something that will go down well around here – you’ll appreciate Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston as much as Queen and David Bowie.


This will be a full-time position with hybrid working where you’ll work from home and from our London office.

Greatest Hits Radio is the UK's most listened to commercial network, reaching 7.5 million weekly listeners on FM, DAB, and online. We play the biggest hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s and feature legendary broadcasters like Ken Bruce, Simon Mayo, and more. You'll join a passionate, ambitious team, playing a key role in making Greatest Hits Radio the UK's top commercial network.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with our network guest interviews on social – taking pictures, collaborating with our on-air teams and identifying the best moments for social.
  • Create engaging social media content including short-form videos, graphics, photos and written posts tailored to Greatest Hits Radio’s audience.
  • Assist on shoots and content days – including music events, presenter shoots and high-profile guest interviews.
  • Contribute to forward planning and content calendar – Generate ideas for social, research social media trends and collaborate with team on shared content calendar.
  • Support the Social Media Lead and contribute to wider brand projects when needed.
  • Community engagement – Contribute to replying to comments, monitoring our messages on social and finding moments to connect with our core artists accounts on social.
  • Maintain GHR’s brand style and tone of voice across all assets.
  • Develop and execute your own content strand – create an ongoing social series/format that can be part of our weekly social output.
  • Flexibility to work out of hours when necessary – particularly during live events and key dates in our content calendar (E.g. Eurovision and Rewind Festival)


Person Specification:

  • 2+ years of experience working in social media and content creation for a brand.
  • Strong working knowledge of social media, particularly Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Confident content creator – able to use Adobe Photoshop, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro and be willing to continue developing this skill.
  • Strong project management skills – someone who is organised, can meet deadlines and lead on multiple social campaigns at once.
  • Comfortable shooting and filming content on mobile, as well as confident in directing and briefing presenters, guests, and other team members where necessary.
  • Confident communicator – who can present ideas and approach challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Confident social copywriter who can write in the Greatest Hits Radio tone of voice.
  • Experience working with social tools like Sprout – for both scheduling and looking at social media analytics.
  • A genuine love and appreciation for our decades and the music we play from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
