Job Description
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a dedicated Software Quality & Maturity Engineer to join our team, supporting the development of high-integrity embedded systems in the automotive domain. This role is critical in ensuring software quality and cybersecurity compliance throughout the development lifecycle, aligning with safety and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
Location: Coventry
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Oversee software quality processes across development phases, ensuring adherence to automotive safety and cybersecurity standards.
- Track and manage software issues and timelines using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Quality Centre.
- Conduct software risk assessments, identify potential vulnerabilities, and drive mitigation strategies.
- Support compliance efforts with relevant safety and cybersecurity standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434, facilitating associated documentation and audits.
- Generate and report quality metrics, ensuring transparency and traceability of software quality and maturity status.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to promote best practices in quality assurance, timeline management, and maturity assessments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help integrate structured quality frameworks like Six Sigma into development workflows.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automotive or embedded software environments, particularly in quality and timeline management.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and Quality Centre for issue tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Skilled in software risk assessment, vulnerability analysis, and compliance validation.
- Trained in quality frameworks such as Six Sigma, with experience applying them in a software engineering context.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
