THE OPPORTUNITY
SII is seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to design, deliver, and maintain a data management system for the payload processor test systems at on behalf of our customer. The role involves ensuring the database infrastructure supports all processor hardware testing activities and is accessible across cleanrooms and internal environments. The successful candidate will engage with existing database structures, built on a MongoDB framework, to ensure seamless integration and continued support for our Space Customer’s testing infrastructure requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a MongoDB-based data management system for payload processor test systems.
- Ensure database availability across internal networks/systems for uninterrupted test operations.
- Implement and enhance tools and utilities for test data extraction, analysis, and report generation.
- Minimise planned maintenance and downtime, providing at least 10 working days’ notice for any maintenance activities.
- Engage with existing database structures to prevent unnecessary rework.
- Support processor hardware testing activities within our Space Customer’s premises.
- Collaborate with test engineers, software developers, and system administrators to align database functionalities with project needs.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Database Development: Proven experience with MongoDB and database design for testing environments.
- Software Development: Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ for database interactions.
- Data Management: Experience with data extraction, analysis, and visualization tools.
- Systems Integration: Understanding of cleanroom environments and integration with hardware test systems.
- Aerospace & Defence: Experience in a highly regulated environment, preferably within Aerospace or Defence sectors.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work closely with test engineers, software teams, and system administrators.
