Description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Solutions Architect to work for our client within the defence sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Bristol, Chippenham, Reading or Hemel Hamstead.


As a Solutions Architect you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure solutions. Your work will support our client’s extensive network ecosystem, spanning cloud, data centres, and enterprise systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement the latest networking technologies that ensure seamless performance for both internal and customer-facing services.


Responsibilities

  • Engaging with the customer, business stakeholders and key partners in providing end to end architecture governance, leadership and solution decision making aligned to the Solution Design Authority architecture principles
  • Develop and own enterprise architecture artefacts, strategies and roadmaps from a business and technology perspective, including ‘as-is’, ‘to-be’ and transitional states addressing key stakeholder viewpoints and requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise to business key stakeholders and units in providing consultative customer engagement, shaping, and qualifying complex service change, delivery, and resource profile requirements
  • Own and engage key stakeholders and business units in responding to complex in-contract customer request for information, contract change notification, solution design proposal and winning new business bids. Throughout all stages of a solutions design engagement life cycle
  • Provide and own architecture deliverable outcomes such as proof of concept, technological solution whitepaper, bid (PQQ, ITT), high level design collateral in addressing the customers’ viewpoints and complex requirements


Requirements

  • Enterprise networks (IP Layer 1-7)
  • Enterprise network security and boundary protection
  • Service provider networks (e.g. DWDN, SDH, OTN)
  • ICT vendor technologies, solutions, and products (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Pal-alto, F5, Nokia).
  • Industry architecture methodologies & languages (e.g. TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL, BPMN).
  • Experience in using enterprise architecture toolsets (iServer, IBM Doors).
  • Responding to complex, multi-vendor public sector propositions and bid proposals based on customer requirements (RFI, PQQ, ITN, ITT).
  • Developing solution roadmaps and governance structures in line with customer requirements
  • Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance
