Purpose
We are seeking a
Solutions Architect to join our growing team—a newly created role driven by business expansion. This position will focus on designing and supporting the delivery of technical solutions aligned with our company’s business strategy, digital transformation goals, and enterprise standards. The role is specifically positioned within the
Capital Management & Investment domain.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and system strategies aligned with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to apply technology for business benefit in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Evaluate and recommend solutions based on cost, impact, and feasibility.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory, legal, and risk requirements.
- Communicate architecture strategies across technical and non-technical teams.
- Define non-functional requirements and key system components.
- Lead solution design within agile delivery frameworks, maintaining design integrity through change.
- Support iterative, MVP-aligned design and promote continuous improvement.
- Raise awareness of emerging technologies and existing capabilities.
- Recommend tools, design patterns, and practices.
- Stay current with technology trends and industry developments.
Examples of Key Activities
- Shape solutions by working closely with business leaders, programme managers, product owners, delivery teams, third parties, and vendors.
- Champion design integrity by actively contributing to agile ceremonies like lean start-up, PI planning, and refinement sessions.
- Present and defend architectural designs to the Technical Design Authority.
- Participate in governance boards—reviewing software, due diligence, and change requests to ensure compliance and architectural alignment.
- Accelerate delivery by enabling teams through prototypes, proof of concepts, and clear architectural guidance.
- Mentor peers and foster knowledge-sharing through communities of practice.
- Strengthen the architecture community by collaborating with fellow architects to improve standards, tools, and ways of working.
Key Skills And Experience
- Proven experience with financial and investment platforms, modelling tools, Excel/Python solutions, data platforms, and the integration of these systems is essential
- Hands-on expertise in architecting solutions using Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and traditional on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, APIs, and API management.
- Experience with architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and design patterns (e.g. SOA, microservices).
- Proficiency with SQL Server, NoSQL, Blob storage, and modern data storage technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and enterprise capabilities.
- Commercial background in technology, ideally within Financial Services.
- Demonstrated success in Solution Architecture within agile delivery environments.
- Self-driven and able to deliver complex solutions with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
