Solvency II Accountant

We are supporting a global specialty insurer with the search for a Solvency II Accountant to support the strategic initiative designed to enhance the quality, control, and transparency of regulatory finance information across the business. This role is pivotal in ensuring full compliance with Solvency II reporting requirements as mandated by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and EIOPA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with finance change, actuarial, and regulatory reporting teams to design, test, and implement regulatory information.
• Ensure all regulatory information is in line with Solvency II auditability, and traceability standards.
• Perform detailed reconciliations between the RDS and the general ledger to ensure data integrity for quarterly and annual reporting.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and documentation to support audit and regulatory review.
• Identify and escalate system issues, propose enhancements, and support the development of long-term solutions.
• Provide training and knowledge sharing to internal teams on SII finance usage and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure all outputs meet Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting requirements, including QRTs, SFCR, and RSR.
• Support internal and external audit processes related to Solvency II compliance.

Personal Profile

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified accountant with extensive experience in SII regulatory reporting frameworks and transitions.
• Proven experience in Solvency II reporting, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, including PRA and EIOPA guidelines.
• Proficiency in data reconciliation, financial reporting, and system testing.
