Churchill Special School

Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) or a Newly qualified Therapist (NQP)

Grade: 5 Point 16-20 (fte £31,525 - £35,234 per annum)

Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time Permanent (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

Start Date: Required from April 2025 or September 2025

Churchill School is an outstanding specialist provision for pupils aged 8-18, with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or specific communication and language difficulties.

We are looking for a confident and skilled professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in a School which is committed to enhancing language and communication skills throughout the curriculum.

You will ideally have some experience working with children with a diagnosis of autism preferably in an educational setting.

You Will

  • assess communication and language abilities of pupils on your caseload and offer advice and recommendations to staff and parents
  • work collaboratively with teachers to plan, deliver and evaluate language and communication activities across a number of curriculum areas
  • be involved in training staff in aspects of language and communication development
  • work collaboratively with the Speech and Language Therapist and Speech and Language Therapy Apprentice/Assistant
