• Hiring Location: UK (Bath office)
• The position is hybrid, 2 days at the office (Wednesdays and Thursdays) and 3 days remote
• Full-time role
• Salary: £41,000 to £57,000 depending on skills and experience
• Bonus: dependent on company and individual performance

Role: The SQL Server Database Administrator reports to the Head of Service Delivery and works closely with the Infrastructure and Development teams.

In This Role You Will

• Take responsibility for all production database operations and services.
• Manage all database servers in UAT and production environments.
• Resilience.

• Capacity.
• Develop, implement and maintain database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases within our SaaS products.
• Work alongside the infrastructure and support teams in supporting database systems and responding to, investigating, and resolving production issues.
• Database Design
• Work with the infrastructure and development teams to define infrastructure requirements and implementation configurations for new services and projects.
• Aid database development, advising on best practice and efficient design.
• Reporting
• Guide in the development and delivery of client and internal SSRS reports.
  

MUST HAVES

• 3 plus years’ experience of supporting business critical production environments as a MS SQL Server DBA.
• Knowledge and experience of MS SQL Server 2019 and above
• Understanding of SQL PaaS services – Azure SQL DB and AWS RDS
• Thorough understanding of core SQL database backup and recovery mechanisms, including log shipping.
• Performance tuning.
• SQL Server maintenance requirements.
• SQL Server Reporting services implementation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of TSQL scripting and PowerShell.
• Visual Studio and working with Database Projects.

• Monitoring using PRTG, Sentry One, Database Performance Analyser.
• Query Store.
• Availability Groups.
• SQL Server security and encryption.
• SSIS/SSAS.
• Public cloud, in particular AWS.
• Experience of working in a development environment.
• Experience in an ITIL environment.
• Experience of working in a financial services organisation.
• Be engaged with the SQL Server community.
• Microsoft Power BI and SQL Analysis Services
