Main duties of the job

We provide a comprehensive service to Main Theatres, covering a wide range of specialities, including:

✔️ General Surgery

✔️ Orthopaedics & Trauma

✔️ Vascular & Spinal

✔️ Gynaecology & Obstetrics

✔️ ENT

In addition, we support a busy Day Surgical Unit and Radiology suite, with dedicated Paediatric and Obstetric bays. We also provide care for Level 1-2 extended/overnight patients, ensuring high-quality post-operative recovery.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Registered General Nurse Level 1
  • Current NMC registration
  • IV certification

Desirable criteria

  • ENB 998/ teaching and assessing course or Mentor prep
  • Relevant Recovery/HDU/Critical care course or qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Relevant post registration experience
  • Flexible working
  • Working with patient information systems

Desirable criteria

  • Recent PACU/Theatre/HDU/ICU
  • Good computer skills

Competencies

Essential criteria

  • Experience of effective collaborative working with multi disciplinary teams
  • Nursing knowledge and clinical skills based on up-to-date best practice

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with children/young people
