Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Warehouse & Sterilisation leader and working as part of the sterilisation engineering team, the Process Engineer will be responsible for all engineering activities for the group and will report to the Warehouse & Sterilisation leader on the status of all engineering activities.
As part of the sterilisation engineering team, will review plans, designs and improvements for new projects and processes to improve productivity, efficiency and plant facilities. Involvement in all new equipment design activities, acceptance, will recommend and carry out modifications to equipment. Provides technical facility support in the installation, modification, repair and preventative maintenance of the steriliser and autoclaves.
The working hours for this role are 8.30 am - 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Ensures that all steriliser and autoclave equipment and services are operated and maintained safely in compliance with appropriate technical guidelines.
- Keeps abreast of all Health and Safety legislation and performs work accordingly to ensure compliance. Reports safety hazards to Warehouse & Sterilisation leader. Serves as a Radiological Protection Supervisor (RPS) for the two irradiators.
- Minimises' downtime caused through failure plant and equipment. Responds to call-outs and takes emergency action to ensure minimal interruption.
- Keeps Leader informed of all activities, responsible for equipment/plant performance and reporting the status maintains records and suggesting improvements to processes and equipment.
- Prepares accurate project schedules and cost estimates for all projects associated with manufacturing improvements.
- Ensures that any statutory legislation and/or quality system requirements are adhered to with regard to process changes and process initiation.
- Coordinates activities derived from equipment/plant measures to address performance issues.
- Actively pursues cost reduction opportunities to meet annual plant budget requirements.
About You
- Degree or HNC in an engineering discipline with a proven track record, management studies qualification are advantageous.
- Engineering experience in a high volume environment ideally within a medical device manufacturing facility is crucial together with required control engineering experience.
- ‘Hands-on’ experience in fault rectification, design of modifications, process innovation and project management.
- Experience in the promotion and application of all relevant planned maintenance, Quality Control, Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and requirements.
- Proven ability to accept and promote change.
- Demonstrated ability to lead personnel and control budgets.
