The People, Culture & Impact team’s mission is to deliver a mission-driven experience that empowers the People of Depop to do their best work. As Depop executes on its growth strategy, the People team is shaping a people strategy which will underpin this growth. The strategy (and the operations that underpin it) will ensure that Depop can grow scalably by building a culture of high performance and excellence, evolving organisational effectiveness and efficiency, and providing meaningful growth for our people. As a Strategic People Partner, you will be partnering with Executive Team members and their leadership teams to design and deliver future-focussed people solutions which enable the business to achieve its bold ambition. You will lead delivery of all evergreen people processes, ensuring leaders understand and own their role through manager comms, awareness and training. You’ll also lead strategic people initiatives across the function which evolve and improve the employee experience and ensure we attract, develop and retain talent which will fuel Depop’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Work with Executive Team members and their leadership teams to translate the Depop strategy and functional plans into people strategies.
- Oversee workforce planning, development, and retention strategies to ensure the business attracts, develops, and retains great talent.
- Deliver evergreen people processes such as performance management, comp review and talent planning, always with an eye on evolving these to better fit our Depop culture and ambition. Work in partnership with the People team at Etsy to ensure Depop’s needs are considered.
- Take a key leadership role in strategic initiatives, mobilising cross functional squads and driving forward projects which bring to life the mission-driven experience.
- Collaborate with the Impact team to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is fully embedded in people practices, holding the lens of equity and inclusion on everything we do, as well as proposing and delivering specific initiatives.
- Collaborate with the People Experience team to ensure hiring strategies are aligned with business strategy.
- Lead the employment engagement survey for your allocated functions, working with leaders to develop action plans to address feedback. Partner with Internal Comms on the development of an overall employee listening strategy.
- Collaborate with Etsy's Reward team to ensure our Depop pay philosophy and approach is competitive and aligns with the Depop strategy.
- Identify learning and development needs and explore opportunities to support employees with personal development and career growth.
- Utilise people metrics and analytics to inform strategic decisions, monitor trends, and measure the impact of people initiatives.
- Serve as a point of escalation for leaders and the Employee Relations & Advisory team to navigate and resolve complex workplace issues, ensuring a healthy and productive work environment.
- Lead and support organisational change initiatives, partnering with leaders to ensure smooth transitions.
Requirements
- Experience partnering with Executives and senior leadership teams to design and deliver people solutions to business challenges.
- Practical understanding of evergreen people processes such as performance review, compensation review and talent & succession planning and experience in evolving them to meet business needs
- A great grounding in employment law, ER and people policy developed through generalist HR experience.
- Great relationship building and influencing skills, willing to challenge but with the capacity to listen, learn and show humility.
- Exposure to organisational development, learning and development, engagement and talent initiatives.
