Purpose and scope of the role
This role is part of our Networks and Communications Group. Working closely with the Networks & Communications Group Director, the Strategy Delivery Director will lead strategy and change delivery across N&C, optimising ways of working, streamlining systems & processes (including the review of relevant AI tools and other technologies), creating efficiencies and increasing productivity. This Director will play a key role in shaping the Group, leading the thinking on our future regulatory role and ensuring we make the most of our levers today to help deliver world-class communications for the UK. The role will have collective leadership responsibility for the N&C Group (c150 FTE) and be an integral part of the N&C leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development
Work with the leadership team within N&C and other relevant teams in Ofcom to develop the long-term strategy for the Group, recognising the fast-moving disruptive environment and our wide-ranging responsibilities. Ensure the Group is a thought leader - both domestically and internationally.
Delivery Lead
Develop a one team approach to delivery ensuring the right programme structures and processes are in place to maximise effectiveness, including governance. Ensure strong stakeholder management and communications plans are in place across the Group, working with relevant colleagues across Ofcom..
Change Management Lead
Apply structured methodologies to lead change management activities across the N&C Group, measure success metrics, and monitor progress. Lead change-related work including impact assessments, learning needs analysis and communication strategies to support the development of the culture of the Group.
Support and Align with Stakeholders
Work closely with other policy groups and subject matter experts across Ofcom, ensuring coherence across our cross-organisation activities, joining up technology, tools, ways of working and resourcing considerations. Partner with Corporate teams to ensure alignment across technology, communications, finance, and people. Report to PMB, Board and Content Board to update targets and timelines for all strategy delivery and change activity.
Team Leadership
Inspire, empower, and lead from the front, working closely with the Group Director and N&C leadership team to drive collaboration, continuous improvement and foster a culture of delivery and accountability.
