Overview
At Gallagher, we are seeking a Strategy & Operations Consultant to join our corporate team. This role involves executing operational improvement projects and addressing key business process issues.
You will collaborate with senior team members and operational staff to deliver impactful solutions. Your assignments will include cross-functional analysis, problem-solving, and solution design.
This role would suit candidates who are currently working for a consultancy practice, handling insurance and financial services clients and who would be interested in making a move in house to make a real impact on a growing global insurance brokerage.
You will be joining a global team who support our Retail, Specialty, Reinsurance, Claims Consulatancy and Employee Benefits Services Divisions. This role can be based anywhere in the UK and our only requirement is that you will be flexible to travel to our Gallagher Offices across the UK & Ireland when required.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Generate process improvement hypotheses and perform data analysis for assigned tasks across multiple projects.
- Conduct market entry and profitability studies to support M&A activities and develop growth strategies.
- Develop business cases, requirements, and performance metrics.
- Analyse and reengineer business processes with input from management and staff.
- Determine comprehensive business requirements and document 'as-is' processes and information flows.
- Develop 'to-be' process flows and change diagrams to identify organisational and workflow changes.
- Write detailed action plans, including timelines and sequences of events, for team members, consultants, and contractors.
- Identify performance metrics to monitor cost, quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Address critical business issues such as organisational effectiveness, management reporting, and overall performance improvement.
- Exercise problem-solving skills, craft actionable recommendations, and work with management and staff to implement solutions.
- Develop training materials for assigned projects and update project management documents.
- Produce performance reports and identify actionable recommendations.
- Participate in the implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
About You
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in Management Consulting, handling Insurance or Financial Services Clients would be a requirement.
- Experience gained working in the insurance industry in a senior business process improvement environment would also be considered
- Experience and knowledge of the insurance brokerage industry would be advantageous.
- A degree in Engineering, Maths, Economics would be an advantage but is not essential.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex business problems.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to frame key questions, develop analytical frameworks, and deliver clear results.
- Develop strategic frameworks to articulate Gallagher's strategies to various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with divisional and functional groups to aid in strategy development and manage projects end-to-end.
Technical Skills:
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
- Ability to gather, synthesise, and analyse data to draw logical conclusions.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Well-developed business judgment with the ability to recommend actions based on financial and non-financial analysis.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Fantastic communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership.
- Commitment to professional and personal growth.
