Introduction

As we are offering six different internship positions, you must choose and apply for only one that best aligns with your interests and skills.

What’s the role?

This project is based in the Adults Social Care & Health directorate in the Council. Adult Social Care (ASC) teams support adults of all ages across the borough, helping them to stay independent, safe and well so they can live the lives they want to. They provide information and advice about care and support to all residents, offer short term help and options for longer term support if people have more complex needs.

Overview of the project

Support a number of ASC projects and specifically we are looking for an intern to support 2 ASC Transformation Programmes in front-facing services:

Enablement Efficiency Pilots - We are trialling a number of new approaches to maximise the efficiency of our enablement service, combined with ethnographic research in clients’ homes to understand the role of enablement and the consequences of any proposed changes.

Day Services 100 Day Challenge - We are running a co-production programme to design our day services around creating a life of opportunity for people with a learning disability or dementia.

The job is based in Ladywell Centre, 148 Dressington Avenue, London SE4 1JF

Special conditions

  • You must be a 2nd year undergraduate student AND have a Lewisham-registered home address (these details will be verified prior to interviews)
  • You'll earn 4 days' annual leave which must be taken during your 8-week placement. If you have any other holidays booked beyond the 4-day allowance, these will be unpaid.

Salary

London Living Wage - £13.85 per hour; 35 hours a week
