About The Role
This will be a paid internship during summer 2025 and you will be working with the QEC (Quantum Error Correction) team to refine Nu Quantum's error correcting process to support a variety of target systems. You will be part of a team developing novel code compilation strategies, by analysing the unique features of the many quantum computers available today.
Responsibilities
- Developing software tools to compile QEC circuits to specific hardware platforms
- Benchmarking QEC processes
- Proposing novel techniques for using distributed entanglement to protect quantum information.
Requirements
Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with scientific python
- Numerical experimental design and interpretation
- Good team player with strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Proactive and natural problem solver with a 'can do' attitude
- Curiosity to learn and an interest in quantum computing
- Enrolled in or completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a technical subject (e.g. physics, engineering, or a related discipline)
Desirable skills and experience (not required, but beneficial):
- Experience with QEC code design
- Familiarity with software engineering and testing practices
