The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion. As a Supplier Quality Auditor, you will support electrical machine manufacturing projects throughout the product life-cycle, from a supplier quality perspective, ensuring our supply chain risks are known and mitigated. You will visit our suppliers to verify conformance and compliance with our processes and standards.

The Role

Acting as the Safran Electrical & Power Quality representative during interactions with our suppliers, serving as the link between SEP and the wider group you will also:

  • Conduct quality audits (mainly product and process audits) and establishing discrepancies and recommendations based on the quality system and Safran's specific requirements
  • Contribution to Supply Chain Performance: Propose, develop, and implement Supplier Quality Assurance strategies. The goal is to sustainably improve supplier quality and ensure Supplier Assurance throughout our supply chain.
  • Proactively identify potential quality risks from suppliers and coordinate an effective mitigation plan
  • Conduct audits at our suppliers across the UK, Europe, North Africa and potentially further a field such as Asia. It is expected you will conduct around 25 Audits a year so there will be regular business travel involved with this role.
  • Help identify continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to the Safran Electrical & Power improvement journey

Desirable Experience

We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:

  • Education and industrial experience in Quality including supplier audits on site
  • General skills and experience in problem solving techniques such as 8D, 9S, Kaizen, Kanban etc
  • Experience of quality standards across AS9100, Part 21, Part 145, AS9102 FAI
  • Confident acting as a Safran representative during supplier interactions
  • Understanding of production processes in Aerospace and Aviation
  • Experience working within the Aerospace regulatory environment, or similar regulated industry.
  • A broad understanding of aircraft or other complex safety-critical systems
  • A degree in a relevant engineering subject, or other appropriate qualifications or experience

This role will require you to adapt quickly to changes and have the ability to establish positive relationships quickly across internal and external stakeholders. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work internationally - as such a second fluent language would be highly beneficial.
