An opportunity has arisen for a talented Supply Chain Assistant to join the c2c Supply Chain team.

What you will do:


As a Supply Chain Assistant, you will report directly to the Senior Procurement Manager, however you will also provide support across the wider procurement and contract management team. You will be an integral part of our team where you will hold key responsibilities associated with delivery and success of each procurement, as well as the delivery of wider strategic objectives.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Provide administrative support across the team including but not limited to processing compliance documents and contracts, PO management, reporting on departmental targets and arranging meetings with internal/external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that they inform our procurement activity.
  • Assist and guide internal stakeholders through various stages of the procurement process.
  • Provide systems administration support for all supply chain systems.
  • Assist in supply chain process improvement and development.
  • Exercise a quality control function over all tenders by reviewing all Notices, Tender Documents, Contracts, Tender Evaluations, Award/Unsuccessful Letters, Reports, and other key documents (prior to these being published or sent for internal approval) to ensure compliance with the published award criteria and c2c presentation standards.
  • Utilise the e-procurement solution including working with the Senior Procurement Manager to develop and promote its use by employees, providing training where required and updating templates and records within the system.
  • Assist with the development and automation of processes within the Supply Chain team.
  • Promote and provide guidance to other c2c departments on a variety of different procurement workflows.
  • Identify and drive forward purchasing opportunities through internal demand profiling, supply base benchmarking and analysis, ongoing examination of generic supplier market trends to develop and deliver cost-saving business and value-added opportunities.
  • Assist c2c in fulfilling its 10 year corporate strategy.
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with all c2c policies, standards and governance (including c2csms17.01 procurement standard and PA2023 where applicable).
  • Attend relevant internal and external meetings.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Strong analytical, financial and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, both written and verbal.
  • Results driven attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • High general standard of education, specifically in Mathematics and English.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience of working within a TOC or Rail environment (desirable).
  • Some prior experience in a procurement environment (desirable).
