1 x 26 Hours at Birkdale Road

1 x 30 Hours at Lees Hall Road

St Annes are recruiting 2 x Part Time Support Workers based at our Mental Health residential services in Dewsbury.

The right candidate will need to be fully flexible and able to work all shift patterns, including weekends, Bank Holidays and Sleep Ins. You will also be required to work across both services at times to cover annual leave etc.

Main duties of the job

The role is to support people who live in the home with daily life skills and activities, Updating support plans and risk assessments. Updating daily notes and ordering medication and general housing keeping of the service.

Working with other professionals involved in the clients care.

You will also be administering medication and supporting clients to health care appointments.

Essential Qualities & Responsibilities

  • A willingness to provide appropriate support tailored to each client’s goals and aspirations, in line with their person-centred support plan.
  • An understanding of how to support individuals with complex needs in a way that promotes independence, dignity, and autonomy.
  • Ability to maintain accurate written records, including daily notes, risk assessments, and incident reports, with involvement from the client wherever possible.
  • Comfortable undertaking a variety of domestic, practical, and emotional support duties, including supporting clients to access the community, maintain tenancies, attend appointments, and engage in meaningful activities.
  • Physically able to meet the general demands of the role – such as using stairs or working night shifts – with reasonable adjustments considered in line with the Equality Act.
  • Willingness to use IT systems confidently (such as Word, Outlook, and basic databases), with training provided as required.
  • A strong team player, who can communicate effectively with colleagues, external professionals (e.g. CMHT, IST, substance misuse services, GPs, and housing teams), and where appropriate, families or informal carers.
