Job Summary
To promote sustainable practices and support the delivery of CWG’s overall sustainability strategy through management and analysis of data.
Annual Salary: circa £42,000 depending on experience
Closing Date: 27 January 2025
Main Responsibilities
- Support the sustainability department to ensure that the relevant data is collated and analysed to support delivery of the CWG sustainability ambitions including corporate and public commitments. This includes elements such as Net Zero Carbon, energy efficiency improvements and our public Science Based Target.
- Complete data reviews and deep dives to support accurate data collection and robust analysis and anomaly identification.
- Support with internal communications as part of delivering the company’s sustainability strategy including the development of dashboards.
- Support regulatory compliance and communication with internal teams through the development of trackers and action plans across CWG assets and infrastructure.
- Support the building management teams to deliver improved sustainability performance, identifying energy hot spots and highlighting opportunities for improved energy efficiency and emissions reductions.
- Provide regular performance reporting updates to the sustainability team and wider CWG teams as required.
- Contribute to the overall development, update, and maintenance of Canary Wharf Groups internal policies and procedures to ensure consistent and aligned approach to improved sustainability performance throughout the organisation.
- Support the sustainability team in the delivery of the objectives and targets set out in the long-term Sustainability Strategy for the Group.
- Represent the sustainability team and promote key objectives in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums both internally and externally with industry groups such as the UKGBC and BBP.
- Support sustainability certifications and audits.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the AD – Sustainability and proactively support the sustainability team within all CWG departments.
What We Require Of You
- 2+ years experience in an environmental field, ideally in a data analytical role.
- Possessing an environmental qualification is advantageous.
- The role demands credibility and presence, as well as the initiative to own and manage projects, gained though proven project management experience, from a combination of contracting, construction management or similar sustainability roles.
- A working knowledge of data collection techniques, with experience of ensuring accurate data collection to support actionable outcomes.
- The role requires an individual who is self-motivated and tenacious. The ability to work well as part of an integrated Canary Wharf Project Team with Consultants, Trade Contractors and others associated with the Sustainability and Environmental Department.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, especially when dealing with external stakeholders.
- A positive and helpful attitude and customer service orientation are essential.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and continuing professional development is an important aspect of this position.
- IT literacy and good IT working skills (using Document Management Systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases) are essential.
- Experience in using data visualisation platforms such as Power BI would be advantageous.
