Sustainability Manager to work with the
Energy Team on the
SSE ASTI Framework.

A day in the life of a Murphy Sustainability Manager:
- Identify and mitigate sustainability risks associated with project execution, ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards.
- Support proactive measures to reduce the environmental footprint of project activities, including resource efficiency, biodiversity and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all sustainability obligations outlined in the project framework.
- Oversee sustainability reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely data submission through Murphy’s and the employer’s reporting systems.
- Attend and contribute to sustainability and carbon progress meetings, providing insights and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a Carbon Management Plan with reduction targets and performance tracking.
- Ensure alignment with PAS 2080:2023 Carbon Management in Infrastructure, including: Identifying and implementing carbon mitigation measures, Reporting carbon savings (tCO2e) from strategies and prioritising actions based on the Carbon Reduction Hierarchy.
- Promote the use of low-carbon materials for embodied carbon content and promote the use of materials and processes with maximum recycled content.
- Provide insights on carbon emissions reductions, material efficiency, and waste minimisation
- Work closely with the project delivery team to align sustainability initiatives with project timelines.

- Strong knowledge of carbon management and sustainability best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and carbon reduction plans.
- Membership with relevant professional bodies such as IEMA
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and CDM related to environmental and sustainability compliance.
