We are currently looking for a Systems Architect


The Systems Architect is a key role for MM Flowers during an exciting time of change, transformation, and enablement of future business critical projects. The role will be a key enabler on the delivery of significant technology focused projects.

Working closely with the Business Systems Manager and project teams the Systems Architect will work within the architecture function to design and build the business systems landscape at MM Flowers to enable the transformation of the business in alignment with the wider strategy.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that the business systems landscape is delivered as per the agreed high-level design (HLD) and meets the expected business outcomes once delivered. The role will have the ability to work with the project team and vendors to build out HLDs and LLDs whilst ensuring that the design is consistent and when delivered, integrates fully with all technology platforms. Success for the role will be to ensure that the end solution forms part of a loosely coupled environment utilising both current business systems and systems implemented as part of our “Project Chrysalis”.

This is a huge opportunity to utilise your previous experience in business systems to assist in the successfully delivery of new systems.


Daily Responsibilities


  • Design, document and deliver new business systems, associated integrations, and integrated applications.
  • Understanding of current business systems landscape and the delivery of a roadmap to future state.
  • Technical lead for the hands-on delivery and configuration of business systems to meet the architectural designs agreed through the governance process.
  • Identifying requirements and problems in the current as-built systems and ensuring that tasks and requirements are captured and understood.
  • Collaborate and work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure that an appropriate business systems strategy meets business requirements.
  • Ensure clear documentation of designs (HLD and LLD) and implementation of solutions to the agreed architecture.
  • Deliver systems and integrations as per agreed designs through close collaboration with 3rd parties and strategic partners.
  • On delivery ensure that solutions integrate all parts of the business model including processes, operating systems, and application architectures.
  • Deliver “As-Built” documentation and knowledge articles to ensure that business systems can be handed over during service transition.
  • Ensure that systems have the appropriate support available to meet business requirements.
  • Analyse and understand non-functional requirements ensuring that all products and services meet these requirements and are supportable for future updates.



What you can already do


  • Software development qualifications
  • Business systems / platform accreditations & qualifications
  • Proven management of business systems in an FMCG environment
  • A strong systems background with expertise in a complex manufacturing environment (CPG/FMCG) with knowledge of key concepts including MRP and integrating manufacturing automation into business systems.
  • A proven track record with demonstratable experience across business-critical systems in manufacturing.
  • Demonstratable experience of engaging stakeholders (technical and non-technical) to gain buy-in for business systems decisions and approaches.
  • Analytic skills with the ability to quickly understand business processes and technical requirements and then combine both for the most appropriate solution.
  • Expertise in delivering business process improvement.
  • Delivering business systems projects within a fast-paced business, medium sized organisations.
  • Working in a controlled environment with experience, knowledge, and desire to continuously improve.
