THE OPPORTUNITY

Working directly with clients at their site and other designated locations, the successful candidate will prepare installation and transition documentation as part of the technical solution. Once installations are complete, they will produce and submit handover documentation to all relevant parties, including Aquila, MOD, and SCIDA. All documentation must adhere to the designated timescales and quality standards outlined in the program delivery schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Installation Planning and Documentation:

  • Plan and document equipment installation activities to ensure site readiness aligns with the delivery schedule.
  • Conduct site surveys as needed to confirm compliance with SCIDA requirements as detailed in JSP 604, Leaflet 4800. Where compliance cannot be achieved, consult SCIDA and produce an approved risk assessment.

Documentation Preparation

  • Create the following as part of installation preparation:
    • SCIDA Engineering Change Request Part 1/2 Certificate.
    • SCIDA Detailed Design Document.
    • Site Design Pack, ensuring seamless integration across all technical solutions.
Resource Coordination

  • Support Project and Engineering Delivery Managers in planning installation and transition resources across all sites.

Post-Installation Handover

  • Collaborate with onsite teams to produce handover documentation, including:
    • SCIDA Engineering Change Request Part 4 – Installation "As Built" Drawings.
    • Site Acceptance Pack containing required documents for long-term equipment support (e.g., "As Built" drawings, supplier documentation, health and safety files, bills of materials).
Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with onsite installation teams, engineering staff, and SCIDA site engineers to ensure smooth delivery of document deliverables.
  • The primary focus of this role is preparing, producing, and securing approval for the documentation required for installation teams to commence tasks at various MOD sites, including Royal Naval Air Stations, Remote Radar Heads, and Ranges. Post-installation, the candidate will ensure all required handover materials/documentation are produced to enable asset transition to the MOD, end-users, and Aquila for maintenance.
  • The successful candidate will be based primarily at Green Park, Reading, with occasional travel to offsite locations for surveys, design work, and installation activities. They must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
