We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Art Teacher (Teacher of Art & Design will also be considered) who is able to provide a good quality of classroom teaching that will inspire students to achieve their best.

- Be confident teaching a broad base of Art
- A commitment to inspiring creativity and artistic excellence
- A team player with excellent communication skills
- Provide a high-quality teaching in the subject areas whereby students make excellent progress over time and are suitably challenged
- Plan effective lessons which fulfil the requirements of the curriculum ensuring students reach their academic and creative potential
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation well being and success
The Design & Technology Department
Our design and technology department are a friendly, supportive and high performing team of teachers. You will be joining a dedicated team of expert teachers, passionate about delivering outstanding lessons.
The department is extremely well resourced with subject specific equipment, covering Design and Technology, Food Technology, Art and Textiles. The department is further supported by highly skilled and experienced technology technicians within food technology, design and workshop practical’s.

Outwood Academy Freeston became part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust on 1st May 2018. The Academy is in the heart of Normanton, which is a small town and part of the City of Wakefield.
It is a mixed school for both girls and boys ages 11-16. We are an increasingly popular choice of secondary school for families in the local area.
