Job Summary

The Volkswagen Group UK National Learning Centre is the UK’s largest automotive training facility. Located in Milton Keynes, the centre is home to the Group’s training operations, developing our base of 26,000 retailer learners in the UK. Calex is the supplier of learning services, working in partnership with Volkswagen Group UK.

The role:

The role of Technical Aftersales Trainer offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performing team, developing the skills and knowledge of others within Warranty and Volkswagen Group systems this role would ideally suit a Warranty executive, Parts advisor, Service advisor looking for the next opportunity, or next step in their career in training.

Working within modern training environments and using the latest technology and equipment the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of engaging and informative training programmes and assessments, along with performing elements of course development and content design.

We are looking for an individual who is:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of warranty, Volkswagen Group systems and project-based training programmes.
  • To deliver engaging, learner-focused training solutions.
  • Ensure all training delivered is aligned to VWG and individual brand cultures and requirements.
  • Utilise appropriate technology in the delivery of learning interventions, such as e-learning and virtual classrooms & digital solutions.
  • Developing course content necessary for new systems or working processes
  • Perform all aspects of the role to the agreed standards set out within yearly objectives
  • Completion of associated administrative tasks in time agreed.

About You:

  • Automotive retail experience (Essential)
  • Automotive warranty knowledge
  • Detailed and accurate work ethos

  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience of achieving against challenging performance targets
  • Logical approach with a high level of numeracy and accuracy

Salary & Benefits

£37,000 if you are new to training with an increase on the successful completion of probation.

Up to £39,270 for Service Trainer

Up to £40,290 for Diagnostic Trainer

Up to £42,000 for Senior Trainer

Up to £43,860 for Master Trainer

Experienced trainers will be aligned to the appropriate level from day one.

Plus a car allowance of £328.50 per month (£3,942 per year).

Pre-employment Checks

Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated references, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). The nature of this role may necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.

Employment

The successful candidate will be employed by Calex UK (www.calexuk.com). Calex are a specialist automotive training provider and provide training staff and expertise including Trainers, Developers, Digital Learning Experts, and Administrators to Volkswagen Group UK. The successful candidate will join an established team, at the VWG National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes.

Place of Work

VWG National Learning Centre, Wymbush, Milton Keynes.

There will also be times when it may be necessary to work from alternative locations, e.g. VWG facilities and retailers, and other sites as necessary to perform the role.
