The Technical Architect is a proven technical specialist with a strong understanding of technical design, planning and integration. They will work closely with project managers, IT colleagues and business stakeholders to design end to end IT architectural solutions. They will work in alignment with both the business and IT to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company's overall vision and values.
They will lead in the creation and delivery of the technical strategy, identifying and defining best practice and championing technical documentation. They will deliver solutions that drive financial value back to c2c and continuously strive to improve the performance and value of all systems and applications.
Working closely with the Head of IT and the Cyber Security Manager, the Technical Architect will establish IT governance whilst designing a cloud-first architecture to help the company scale and increase productivity.
The architect must be keen to remain fairly hands on due to the size of the team and demands of the business and therefore come from an Infrastructure background.
Areas that the Technical Architect will be involved in include:

- Migration of legacy architecture
- Collaboration
- Cyber Security
- Continuous review and improvement of existing architecture
The role:
- Build the long-term strategic roadmap for all IT systems architecture
- Align IT strategy and planning with the company's business goals and objectives
- Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet industry, security and business compliance. Assist with the execution of 3rd party security reviews to ensure controls are appropriate and in line with the required standards, as well as Legal, Regulatory and Scheme security requirements
- Act as the technical lead on taking all solutions through the entire lifecycle to delivery. This includes taking complete responsibility for service design and ensuring service transition into BAU is completed
- Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to discover and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- As a cyber security ambassador, work with the Cyber Security Manager to communicate information security standards, procedures and best practice both within IT and across the whole of c2c
- Create and present business cases related to IT solutions to the Portfolio Board
- Ensures all legacy, current and proposed solutions drive financial value back to the business
- Align all processes and procedures to ITIL best practice and the IT Operating Model
- Other duties as may be reasonably requested
Experience and qualifications required:
- Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions. Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
- Experience in implementing tools and processes to ensure maximum availability and minimum vulnerability of systems and applications
- Experience working as a Technical Design Authority
- Knowledge of public cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
- Delivering technical solutions throughout the entire development lifecycle from inception to operation.
- Ability to "think big" and challenge business decisions regarding technical solutions
- Be self-motivated and dynamic, able to engage, challenge and influence others
- Have an ability to explain technical issues to non-specialists, from end users to senior executives
- The ability to write coherent, concise, and readable technical documentation, cost models and implementation plans
- Project management experience is essential. Prince 2 Accreditation an advantage
- Experience of managing and developing highly technical staff
