Infrastructure Services

The purpose of Infrastructure services is to ensure our services and systems are hosted effectively, securely and efficiently.  

This is an exciting role within NHS England’s Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE). By providing a range of centralised services and orchestrating the adoption of standards and best practice, the Cloud Centre of Excellence will improve the quality, resilience and security of cloud services in the NHS; increase the speed at which new cloud services can be deployed; improve value for money; and significantly reduce costs and carbon emissions.

The teams are divided into four core areas providing technical and service management expertise:

  • hosting
  • cloud centre of excellence
  • connectivity
  • central capabilities
  • Work with NHS England’s multi-cloud environment, dealing with teams that are building and supporting our critical National Services
  • Use your infrastructure and cloud knowledge and experience to discuss technical topics with highly technical product teams
  • Help deliver enterprise level services to automate and streamline future cloud adoption
  • Collaborate with our chosen partners who provide enterprise-level industry knowledge
  • Have a keen interest and understanding in all security aspects of modern cloud deployments, using cloud-native tooling and best of breed products
  • Understand the value in documentation, knowledge sharing and bringing others along for the journey

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
