The Vacancy

WGM are seeking to recruit a Technical Design Surveyor for our Engineered Solutions business stream in Newbridge. The Technical Design Surveyor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and feasibility of fabrication design drawings by conducting site visits to verify dimensions and alignment with project requirements. This role bridges the gap between design and implementation, ensuring that all fabricated components fit precisely within the intended site context a key member of our management team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to measure and confirm dimensions provided in engineering drawings.
  • Ensure all site measurements align with the specified tolerances and requirements.
  • Cross-check engineering drawings against on-site dimensions to identify discrepancies.
  • Provide feedback to design teams regarding necessary adjustments to fabrication drawings.
  • Liaise with production managers, designers, and site teams to resolve dimension-related issues.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Verify that drawings meet company standards, project specifications, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Ensure fabrication designs consider site conditions and installation practicality.
  • Prepare detailed reports highlighting discrepancies, potential risks, and proposed solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of site measurements and updates to ensure traceability.
  • Follow all site-specific safety protocols and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during site visits.
  • Communication between the structural designers for clarification on any issues from site visits and design drawings.


To be considered for this role, you will need prior experience in Fabrication or structural engineering, particularly in drawing verification and on-site measurement. You will be qualified to Degree or HND in structural engineering and have excellent CAD and 3D modelling skills. A valid UK drivers license will be needed due to travel across various sites in the UK.
