Overall Purpose Of The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Manager with a strong Digital background and experience working in an Agile environment. You will play a key role in delivering exciting projects like revamping Barclays' Digital customer experience, integrating Tesco Bank into Barclays, and advancing customer-facing technology. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver features and enhancements, ensuring effective project management while embracing Agile methodologies and business analysis principles.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will focus on feature delivery within a digital domain, managing dependencies, and ensuring smooth project execution. You will be working across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and liaising with key stakeholders, including the Product Owner, to drive delivery. The role requires someone who can effectively manage project plans, improve team efficiency, and help the team achieve its goals using Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) practices, including PI Planning.

The successful candidate will need a digital-first mindset and experience working on transactional and digital products.

Key Accountabilities

  • Agile Feature Delivery: Manage the delivery of digital features in an Agile environment, working alongside delivery teams to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Managing Dependencies and Risks: Organize and manage dependencies, risks, and issues, working to resolve them promptly and efficiently.
  • Project Planning: Pull together detailed project plans, ensuring that timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Track project KPIs and drive improvements in team velocity and project progress.
  • Governance: Establish and manage governance structures and working groups to support on-time delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improvements in team velocity and efficiency while supporting the development of an effective and efficient project delivery process.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including the Product Owner, to ensure the alignment of business and project goals.
  • Digital Domain Focus: Work primarily on app enhancements and digital features, with an ongoing focus on continuously improving the digital experience.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager with strong Business Analysis skills.
  • Digital background with a focus on feature delivery in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with Scrum, including Scrum Master duties, and familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and PI Planning.
  • Strong proficiency in JIRA, including writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing project tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage dependencies, risks, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prior experience in banking or financial services is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical abilities, and a proven track record of delivering significant changes or initiatives within large organizations.
  • A solid understanding of transactional processes and digital business areas.
  • Experience working across the SDLC and managing digital projects.
