Where will you be working?
As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
This role is in our
Technology department, our IT teams design, manage and optimise IT systems to support the smooth and secure operations of our Group.

What will you be doing?
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth delivery of various IT projects, making a real difference through your planning, communication, and leadership skills.
You’ll develop and maintain comprehensive project and communication plans to guide the successful delivery of IT initiatives.
You’ll collaborate with M Group's IT PMO Governance, ensuring all activities align with established frameworks.
You’ll work closely with all relevant parties to agree on, coordinate, and schedule project activities, fostering a sense of teamwork and shared purpose. As well as lead and inspire the project team, motivating them to reach their full potential and achieve project goals.
Also, you’ll take responsibility for managing and reporting on project budgets, maintaining financial clarity and control.
You’ll proactively identify, evaluate, and communicate IT project risks, taking action to manage them effectively. Feed these risks into the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans if necessary.
You’ll oversee project closure in line with the IT project management approach, ensuring all steps are completed with precision.
We’d expect you to manage changes to project scopes through clear change control processes, documenting and communicating these changes to all key stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience delivering IT Infrastructure and Application consolidation projects.
- Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft stack.
- Experience of managing complex and senior stakeholder interactions
- Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
- Risk/Issue Management and ensuring escalation processes in place and used effectively.
- Experience of financial accounting and reporting practices. Such as costs, and risks.
- Thorough understanding of the project management process throughout the lifecycle, and the ability to identify issues and take corrective action.
- Degree or equivalent, professional qualification advantageous (such as PRINCE2/AgilePM).
