Job Description
We're seeking a talented person to join our ABS Training and Development team.
As a Technical Training and Development Manager - Audit, you will be a part of our ABS Training and Development team, which is responsible for playing a key role in training staff in practical ways to manage the firm's regulatory and reputational risk in an increasingly challenging environment.
We're a national team of both direct staff and volunteers, proud to work closely with audit teams to provide continuous and relevant practical training. We are also a part of the Assurance Technical and Training (ATAT) and we are working closely with Learning and Development, to provide a cohesive service.
As a Training and Development Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with all stakeholders, incl. Training and Development Lead, to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant training and that feedback is taken into account
- Organising, developing, reviewing and delivery of training to agreed timescales
- Prepaing proposals for developing training, attending all relevant internal meetings and training sessions and developing a network of contacts
- Managing/co-managing a limited portfolio of audit clients to maintain knowledge and experience of current practices and issues
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Qualified by experience (ACA, CA, ACCA) with significant external audit experience gained within a professional services environment
- Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, industry specifics and their application.
- Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work is undertaken by appropriate individual.
- Very good communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders

- Previous experience in developing and delivering practical training
- A strong appetite to see people develop and improve audit quality
- Ability to develop and present practical audit content at a high level, responsive to the needs of the business
