Associate – Technology - London
Overview
Moelis & Company’s Associates are expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring intellectual curiosity, leadership and analytical aptitude. The day-to-day responsibilities of an Associate include: financial analysis and modeling, managing a team, preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers and clients. A sophisticated level of interpersonal skill is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyse, and help explain historical and projected financial information specifically as it relates to software companies
- Construct sophisticated financial models, particularly for recurring revenue model businesses
- Perform company valuations and merger & acquisition transaction comparisons based on research findings and client analysis
- Lead the preparation of materials to support a high velocity of interactions between the Moelis Technology investment banking team with companies and investors across the technology ecosystem
- Assist in the preparation of information memoranda, transaction-related documentation and client presentations
- Perform in-depth quantitative financial analysis as it pertains to business, industry and economic forecasting
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong academic track record
- 3-4 years of investment banking experience within a Technology M&A team
- A solid understanding of the sell-side M&A process, along with proven experience in successfully executing deals (prior experience advising financial sponsors will be viewed positively)
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities (customer cube analysis and ARR snowballs, operating models, LBO, DCF analysis)
- Fundamental understanding of accounting and financial valuation methodologies; ability to analyze and value businesses
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Independent thinker and resourceful problem solver
- Results driven and able to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
- Proven team player who is able to effectively interact with a wide variety of internal groups and clients
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Strong Microsoft Office suite (outstanding Excel skills a must) and financial reporting skills
- Ability to leverage modern productivity
